Tournament Status: The tournament ended on October 13th.
This is a state tournament for men and women, who are 50 years old and up. There are two divisions – Mixed and Women, and 6 age classifications. Women may enter either the Mixed division or the Women’s division, but not both. The age classifications start with E (age 50-54) and ascend in 5-year increments until the Super Senior group (age 75 +). All divisions are handicapped based on a bowler’s Montana 5-year Tournament Average (21 game minimum) or their 2023-24 year-end final average (21 game min.) if they have no valid Montana tournament average. All entrants bowl 6 games in two 3-game blocks.
Tournament will be held at Town & Country Lanes in Billings, Montana, starting Friday, Sept. 27 and ending on Sunday, October 13 (3 weekends). There are a total of 7 shifts each weekend – one on Fridays @ 6 pm, three on Saturdays @ 1pm, 3:30 pm and 6 pm, and three on Sundays @ 9 am, 11:30 am and 2 pm. Lanes will be stripped and oiled prior to every shift. Entry fee is $65. The Montana USBC is adding $2,000 to the prize fund.
In addition to a prize fund per division, each age classification winner will receive a paid entry and shirt to the 2025 Senior National Championships in Fort Worth, TX on August 5-8, 2025.

When doing so, you can select your date(s) and shift times in real time. Entry fees must be paid via credit card, in which there is no upcharge. But the PREFERRED method of entering by far is ONLINE. Online registration closes September 22, 2024. This is the state tournament for ladies. It will run for FOUR (4) weekends starting; April 12, 2024 and end May 5, 2024. Friday night shifts at 6pm will be available every weekend. Entry deadline will be on Sunday, May 5 at start of final scheduled shift. However, the ONLINE REGISTRATION DEADLINE is April 5, 2024. To enter this tournament after 4/5/24, a person must call the tournament director for reservations. Every event will be held at Sleeping Giant Lanes in Helena. Team event will consist of 4-member teams. A person may bowl team an unlimited number of times, but must change at least two members every time. AGAIN this year: Bowlers will be allowed to participate in doubles up to 3 times providing they change partners each time and also enter singles each time. Handicap will be the same as last year at 90% of 225. AGAIN this year: The entering average will be your 5-year Montana State tournament average (21 game minimum). The updated average list will be attached to this listing when completed. If no legal Montana State tournament average is available, then a bowler must use the higher of her 2022-23 end-of-season average or January 1, 2024, average (21 game minimum). Non-Montana residents may participate only if they have a 21-game average in a 2023-24 USBC certified Montana league.

This tournament will be conducted on three weekends: April 13 thru April 28, 2024. Every event will be conducted at Star Lanes in Butte. All shifts will be flex shifts (i.e team event will be conducted along side doubles/singles event at same times). AGAIN THIS YEAR; bowlers will use the higher of their two averages, March 1, 2024 or end of 2022-23 final average. However, if no March 1st average is attained, then averages may be used as of the date bowled providing the minimum number of games is met (Divisions 1-4: 12 games minimum; Division 5: 10 games minimum). The same minimum number games applies to all averages. A division 5 bowler (bantam) is defined as a youth who is age 8 or under as of August 1, 2023. Bantams are allowed to bowl up into divisions 1-4 and are also allowed to bowl in division 5 using separate scores. Again this year a bowler is allowed to enter doubles up to 3 times providing he/she changes partners each time and also enters singles each time. Entries close April 28, 2024. However, the ONLINE REGISTRATION DEADLINE is April 5, 2024. Persons wishing to enter after 4/5/24 must contact the tournament director for reservations. Ky Martinich is the tournament director. Although spots may be reserved in advance by calling the tournament director, they are not guaranteed without payment.
